The Trader Export Report service was launched by Dubai Customs in collaboration with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) to assist businesses in overcoming challenges, improving compliance, & increasing revenue. The new service will assist clearing & shipping agents in obtaining a Zero Rating of supply for goods exported under 90 days of the export date, despite the import date.
The service will assist businesses in finding the right balance to provide the best trade & customs facilities, as well as enforce efficiency, abidance, and profits in Dubai’s trade activity. In the virtual presence of Ahmed Mahboob Muabih, Director General of Dubai Customs, Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director General, FTA, as well as Dubai Customs executive directors and heads of customs departments and centres, launched the service.
“The (Trader Export Report) service is meant to provide best trade and customs facilities to traders and businesses to help them increase mutual trade between Dubai and the rest of the world. This will help in the fulfilment of national plans and projects and support Dubai’s 5-year plan of increasing Dubai external trade to 2 trillion dirhams. Dubai non-oil external trade grew 10% in Q1, 2021 to Dh354.4b compared to Dh323b in Q1, 2020. This includes Dh150m for exports and re-exports,” said the Director-General of Dubai Customs, Ahmed Mahboob Muabih.
Traders must meet all Zero Rating needs, which include having an exit certificate & commercial documents that show the exportation procedure, as well as transferring the shipment within the given timeframe. This service is only for imported products that will be shipped later, not for goods that are already in your possession. The launch of the new service comes at the right moment, as the emirate prepares to host EXPO2020, the world’s major economic event. It will be more than just a chance to share innovative ideas & projects; it will also be a critical tool in aiding the world’s recovery from the impact of Covid-19.
The new service, which is accessible on the Dubai Trade website, will apply to specific types of customs data, such as (import to the local market from other countries of the world – import to the local market from the free zone – import to the local market from the customs warehouse – import to the local market from Gulf Cooperation Council countries) (Statistical Import Declaration) – Exporting from the local market to other countries in the world or to the Gulf Cooperation Council (Statistical Export Declaration), which refers to any of the types of import statements listed under the preceding customs declaration number (PDN).
